Our Intern Team has reached the end of their year! After very successful outreaches in Secunda, Madikwe, Mozambique, and Swaziland, the interns bid their farewell and set off to plan new adventures for 2010. We asked two of them to share their experience of the year. |

Our Intern Team has just returned from two and a half months in Xai Xai, Mozambique. They worked with the local missionary in the area - Wynand from ‘Africa Para Cristo’. During their time in Xai Xai they ministered in a host a different ways, including but not limited to: youth ministry, children’s ministry, English lessons, sports clinics, evangelism, door-to-door visitations, preaching, life skills in schools, Bible studies and building relationships.

Area of Ministry: Xai Xai, Mozambique
Missionary: Wynand Jordaan (Africa Para Cristo)
Duration of Outreach: 14 June – 30 August 2009
We set out on the morning of 14 June to drop the Intern Team off in Xai Xai, Mozambique. There was a mixture of excitement and anxious emotions stirred into one road trip. Some of the team members had never crossed African borders, some had never been to Mozambique, and none had ever done missions in a different country. As the team's facilitators, we knew they were ready though.

The Intern Team spent an incredible month in the village of Madikwe, which is just outside of Rustenburg. They were working with Pastor Lesego Molokoane to impact the community through door-to-door visitation, school ministry, sports clinics, and preaching, among other things. AREA OF MINISTRY: Embalenhle, Secunda
MISSIONARY: Emmanuel Twala (Temple of Faith)
DURATION: 1 April - 30 April 2009
The Intern Team has just completed an amazing month of ministry working with Pastor Emmanuel Twala in the township of Embalenhle. They were hosted by members of the community during their stay and therefore had the opportunity to be truly immersed in the culture of the area. This also enabled them to achieve their goal of serving the local church by impacting the community. |
