The ‘new’ year may already feel ‘old’ to you, but there are fresh ideas that are happening in 3D-Outreach: - The organisation is taking new steps that we believe are steps of growth into the future. To begin with, the staffing structure has been altered to function more efficiently. In the past we have had clear cut departments with department-heads overseeing each. This structure has worked well in the establishing stages of the organisation, but with the guidance of consultants, we have decided to function in a flatter organisational structure, incorporating a team of key positions to enable us to meet the needs of missionaries. We believe that we are going to be able to function even more effectively, and this will enable us to perform on a higher level, ensure growth of the organisation, so that ultimately we can reach more people. |

While we know that God is always at work, we are also fully aware that we don’t always get to see the whole story. On 25 April, 3D-Outreach and about 25 volunteers from the Johannesburg area convened on the banks of the Jukskei River in order to reach out to the Setswetla community. This area of Alexandra township is plagued by alcohol abuse, domestic violence, poor sanitation, regular flooding, and unemployment. This particular project was focused on assisting Vertical Life (www.verticallife.co.za) in distributing personal, portable water filtration devices called LifeStraws. |

Update - 12 March 2007 Next Phase - Seed for planting We are moving into the next stage in our relief work in Mozambique. The soup kitchens are winding down and will soon no longer be necessary. Thank you to all who donated. The next phase is to provide seed to the people so that they can plant the crops they lost. Through providing seed we hope to enable the affected communities to once again become self sufficient. Any donations towards seed purchases are welcome. Lennit and Janine have just returned from Mozambique after assisting with the initial relief work. This is what they had to say... |
