Lennit and Rolf in Malawi

Posted by 3D-Outreach on 30 May 2007

3D-Outreach was approached by Scott, a Missionary for GIA in Malawi, to assist him in taking a vehicle up to Malawi from South Africa. So, at midnight on Sunday 13 May, Rolf Hagemann and Lennit Els departed from Johannesburg heading for Malawi.

We arrived in Tete (Mozambique) at around 23H00 on 14 May and checked into a little motel. By some miracle we managed to get a room by conversing with the motel manager who could only speak Portuguese, apart from telling us “one thousand” and “breakfast”… By 8am the next morning we were back on the road heading for the Mozambique/Malawi border. Before long we arrived at the home of a very happy and relieved Scott.

Once the vehicle was delivered we met up with Keith and Christeen Moller and spent three days with them, sharing in good times of fellowship in the local market, clinic, coffee plantation, fishing dam; and meeting many of the locals. On the 21st of May we boarded a bus heading back to SA.

All in all it was a blessed trip and allowed 3D-Outreach to fulfil its mandate to be a resource to the long-term career Christian worker. after he had some serious mechanical work done on it here in South Africa

We would like to send out a word of Praise to our GOD and Father for His hand of protection upon us, as on the return trip our bus driver avoided what could have been a head on collision with a drunken driver…
