ER24 Outreach

Posted by 3D-Outreach on 18 March 2008

It’s amazing how easy it is to overlook the men and women who serve our community on a regular basis. On Saturday, 8th March, the 3D-Outreach intern team decided to serve some of those who so faithfully serve us. The team, armed with some car soap and buckets, went to the Flora Clinic in the suburb of Florida to wash ambulances for the ER-24. They also brought with them some home-baked cookies to bless the paramedics and say “thank you” for all they do for us.

It was an awesome experience for the interns as they were able to spend time with the paramedics and see how much of an impact a simple act of service such as washing the vehicles and delivering cookies could make on them. It was also a blessing to hear some of their stories and get to know the personalities behind these individuals who comfort us in our injuries and rescue us from dangerous situations.

Sometimes in our zeal to serve “the world,” we have a tendency to overlook the needs in our own backyards. But our simple acts of service can display the love of Christ in a powerful and effective way if we would just take the time to be obedient to God’s call upon us to be “lights” for Him, wherever we find ourselves.
