A Few Days at The Field
Posted by 3D-Outreach on 3 July 2008Sometimes, one of the hardest things about spending your days serving God is, ironically, finding times to just be with God. While we recognise the need for service in the Kingdom of God, we also understand the importance of taking time away from the activity of service to spend time at the feet of Jesus. With this in mind, the entire 3D-Outreach staff set aside three days in June to spend in rest and reflection on a staff retreat.
The retreat, led by Bruce Boynes, centred around Isaiah 40:31 – “They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Held on a peaceful piece of farmland known as The Field, our time of retreat was primarily spent meditating on this and other Scriptures as well as reconnecting with one another and just spending times alone with God.
What an intensely valuable time it was for each of us to take some time away from the responsibilities and activity of life. We greatly appreciate Bruce Boynes and his wife Patsy for their incredible hospitality and for pouring their wisdom into our lives. We recognize daily that we are truly blessed and we are grateful for God’s mercy upon us, love for us, and provision for our lives as we endeavour to serve Him. Our prayer is that you, too will be able to set aside some time in the coming days to just be in the presence of Jesus.
