Intern Team Commissioning

Posted by 3D-Outreach on 26 March 2009

The Intern Team has reached the final days of training before they head out to the mission field! It has been an amazing three months of equipping and personal growth. To celebrate this fact we organised a family and commissioning weekend for 20-22 March 2009.

Friends, family, sponsors, prayer partners and lecturers were invited to participated in a weekend of fun and relaxation. On Friday we had a wonderful welcoming braai in the rain!! By the time the evening came, the rain had cleared and we were able to fellowship around a bonfire with a beautiful view and roasted marshmallows.

On Saturday the team members left the campsite with friends and family to go shopping, have lunch together and enjoy each other’s company. We all returned in the evening to share supper and participate in an evening of games! It was interesting so see how people enjoyed 30 Seconds – it brings out a whole new dimension!

Sunday morning included a delicious breakfast before the afternoon Commissioning Service. We were privileged to have Olefile Masangane come and lead a time of worship for us and Pastor Mike Hagemann delivered a sterling message on perseverance. We then asked everyone present to come and stand around the Intern Team to pray over them. This was a particularly awesome time as people joined together in agreement and held the team up in prayer to show their support and commitment to their mission. The team also received their 3D-Outreach Intern Team jackets.

The weekend ended in a lovely lunch after which friends and family began to bid the team farewell. The interns have one final week left and will be leaving on 1 April to go and work with Pastor Emmanuel Twala in Secunda. Watch this space for more details!
Thank you to everyone who was involved in the Commissioning Weekend!! It wouldn’t have been the same without you!!
