Intern Team August Update

Posted by 3D-Outreach on 2 September 2009

Our Intern Team has just returned from two and a half months in Xai Xai, Mozambique. They worked with the local missionary in the area – Wynand from ‘Africa Para Cristo’. During their time in Xai Xai they ministered in a host a different ways, including but not limited to: youth ministry, children’s ministry, English lessons, sports clinics, evangelism, door-to-door visitations, preaching, life skills in schools, Bible studies and building relationships.

Over and above the amazing time of ministry, the team members have been impacted in a huge way as well. We asked each of them to write down some of their personal experience so that we could share it with you.

Zamo
“God has been on a journey with me in Mozambique despite experiencing many challenges along the way. God used all things for good. He taught me not to live under my own will – the way that I think things should be – instead I should submit to what God wants. Mozambique was a good experience of spiritual growth and development, especially in the Word of God. I have developed a passion for the Word and have been challenged to live a life worthy of His calling. God has taught me to be heavenly minded, not focused on the things of this world which will be destroyed by fire in the end. Christ has taught me that it’s not about me – it’s about HIM.”

Debbi
“If I had to wrap up in one sentence what these past two and a half months have been for me, I would say, “my life is not my own, it was nailed to the cross when Christ who lives in me was nailed to it.” During our mission in Xai Xai, God asked me one question above all else: “Are you ready to leave all behind for the Kingdom?” I believe God brought me to the point in my life where I am assured that all that matters is Christ and His glory. It does not matter whether I am on the mission field or at home washing dishes – “whatever you do, do all for the glory of God” (1 Cor 10:31). I now know that it’s not WHAT I do, but WHO I do it for. My time in Xai Xai will never be forgotten because I believe that I truly started “living” there – I found my identity in Christ, I found that I am complete in Christ (Col 12:10).”

Mosa
“The Lord has done amazingly great things in my life and I have been privileged enough to see and witness His miraculous work being done in the lives of many. His faithfulness has been consistent even to the needy who have relied on God for everything from food to clothing. God has used the people in the villages to be a blessing to me. They received us with such warm loving welcome. We had the opportunity to share the Gospel and Christ’s love. It was truly a blessing to spend time with everyone during Bible studies and to be in the presence of God. People lived under harsh circumstances but each morning they woke up with a new song on their lips to give glory and praise to our God – what a big lesson for me about trusting God and being content in every situation.”

At 3D-Outreach we praise God for the incredible work He has done not only in the lives of every person who received ministry but also in the lives of the team members. We continue to thank God for all your support in prayers, finance and encouragement – foundations upon which ministry is built.
