Four to Six Weeks

Who would have thought that finding a replacement alternator for a Toyota Land Cruiser could be such a challenge? When we were contacted by a missionary in Mozambique urgently needing a replacement part for his vehicle, it seemed like a straightforward request. He had more details than we possibly thought we could use. But in trying to find the right part, every person we talked to had a different answer. “If it’s not the right part, can we return it?” we asked. The answer was a resounding, “No!”

After several inquiries to countless different places in Johannesburg, Nelspruit, and even Swaziland, we were finally able to connect up with an alternator specialist in the Cape Town area who could get us the exact part we needed. Within three days, we had received the part from Cape Town and shipped it up to Mozambique where, as promised, the part fit perfectly and the vehicle was up and running again in no time.

True to form, God’s provision came with perfect timing. The vehicle was needed to transport a short-term mission team from South Africa to Mozambique only days later. Without the replacement alternator, the short-term trip might not have been possible. Once again, we praise God for His faithfulness and for the way He guides our steps and leads us on the right paths. We are constantly reminded that God cares about even the little things that would threaten to hinder His Word going forth.
