Maritzburg to Zambia

There are many churches who want to get involved in missions but are not sure how or where to start. A church in Pietermaritzburg called on 3D-Outreach to assist them with organising a trip for their missions committee. The purpose of the trip was to be an encouragement to existing missionaries and their ministry. Their main destination was Zambia, but they stop to bless a couple of missionaries along the way as well. We asked some of the committee members to share their testimonies with you:

“The mission trip to Zambia was great and meant a lot to me because it was the first mission I’ve ever done. I now pray for more mission trips to come. What was so great to me was when people came forward to ask Jesus Christ our Lord to enter in their hearts. Another great thing was when we prayed for the sick, marriages, employment etc. Hey is was cool. I thank God for the way He used us and never left us, He was there for us through the whole trip. I also found the door-to-door visitation to be an amazing experience. Knocking on the doors of the community and asking them if they needed a prayer in their house. My last word is, I pray that God will give us many people to join in missions.There is so much work to be done in the world. Amen” (Solomon)

“My expectations for the mission trip to Zambia was exceeded in everyway. God undertook for us in amazing ways. One could literally “see His hand” at work! Lives were changed! People accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. Many re-dedicated their lives to God. We had opportunity to pray for the sick and we believe that many were healed in Jesus name. I also want to thank 3D-outreach for their great assistance during the trip. Ephesians chapter 3 vs 20-21 helps summarize the trip for me. ” Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! “There are few things that gets ones attention quite as well as being forced out of your comfort zone. Short term missions have a unique way of cutting through all the padding and fluff in our lives to make one experience God, and there is no better teacher than experience. Our mission team’s experience in Zambia opened my eyes to the extent of the work that must still be done, leaving me with an overwhelming feeling that I must do more. As the trip progressed I learned that as much as I may want to do more, it is God and not I that does the work. We are nothing more than vessels, and even then, just
humble “jars of clay” (2 Corinthians 4:7)”
