June Intern Update

Posted by 3D-Outreach on 14 July 2011

It is almost time for our Interns to go out on longer-term outreaches. They graduate from their training time on the 20th of July and after a short break will be preparing and heading out to XaiXai, Mozambique for two months. They have had an amazing journey of growth and experience thus far and recently went on a two week World Faith’s outreach.

The World Faith’s outreach gave them the opportunity to learn about, experience and interact with people from different religions and cultural groups. They were able to build relationships with a diversity of people, pray for people who were in need and share in the lives of those they encountered.

Here are a couple of things the team learnt during their time on the outreach: “I learnt a lot about the global and the persecuted church. I also learnt some scary statistics about unreached people groups and that only approximately 12% of missionaries are working among them. It was a real challenge. I was deeply touched and realised the importance of being missions minded” (Tarryn)

“God should never be taken lightly, He created everything. He is all knowing, all powerful and He will never leave us nor forsake us. I learnt to not only repeatedly say this but to genuinely believe it with all of my heart. This year has been amazing; I cannot express how grateful I am for all your support. I am now a totally different person and I love being me. I don’t love Moshibudi but Christ inside of me” (Moshibudi)

“I learnt about the absolute power of prayer and how important prayer is for the work we do. Without it we would not succeed in our tasks and it has made me more grateful for the prayer support that I receive. A verse that encouraged me greatly is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” (Elsie)
