New staff

We are privileged enough to have three new staff members join us. 3 women who are sold out for Christ and have felt led, by the Lord, to volunteer full time with us at 3d-outreach. Enjoy reading their profiles.

TarrynName: Tarryn Hoffman

I was born and grew up in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. From the time I left school, I desired to be in Christian work and spent a year working with Youth For Christ (YFC) Zimbabwe, followed by an internship with my local church, Bulawayo Baptist. I then continued to work in the social concerns ministry of the church, being involved in the soup kitchen, clinic, abandoned babies home and street children’s home, whilst studying a degree in psychology.

During this time I began to feel a call to missions, and so I moved to Benoni, South Africa to do a missions internship with 3D-Outreach. This internship included an intensive, 5 month Missions Discipleship Training with Operation Mobilisation (OM), and outreaches in South Africa and Mozambique. Since then, I have been working with 3D-Outreach, where my main focus has been assisting in training, discipling, counselling and supervising the intern team. I have also been involved in many outreaches to Zimbabwe, Malawi, Lesotho, Mozambique, North Sudan, and around Southern Africa. Other aspects of my work at 3D-Outreach include training for short term trips, finding resources for missionaries and meeting with church leaders.

I have a desire and passion for missions, and feel that God has placed me here to serve on staff at 3D-Outreach. I have loved being involved in this work and having the opportunity to reach out to others with the love of Christ, and touch lives for God’s glory.

I was born in Johannesburg and have lived here all my life. After I matriculated I joined BYSA, a ministry team that travels around Southern Africa. I was there for two years. I then went to WITS University to study teaching and thereafter taught for 4 years.

I have always had a passion for missions and in 2012 God opened a door for me to serve with 3D–Outreach. I fully believe that I am answering this call, that I know God has placed in my heart, by being part of this mission’s organisation. It was a challenging decision but I felt God asking me to take a step out of the boat and focus my eyes on Him regardless of the ‘waves’ I will come across. I received confirmation in many forms, one of them being this verse from John 14:12 – 14: I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

My role at 3D-Outreach will be wide-ranging. I will be involved in administration in the office, training and mentoring the interns, as well as being sent on short term mission’s trips wherever I am needed, using the skills God has graciously developed in me throughout my years in ministry and in teaching. I am looking forward to what God has planned for me and for 3D Outreach. May all the glory go to Him.

Nancy PicName: Nancy Bateman

I am from Kansas, US  and I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been working as the Director of Therapy services for the Pregnancy Crisis Center of Wichita for the past 9 years. In July 2012, on a short-term mission trip with my church to Mozambique we were blessed by the assistance of 3D Outreach. Twelve Americans travelling with twenty-four bags of medical equipment was an overwhelming task for seasoned missionaries let alone green ones. However, God provided by connecting us with Rolf, who arranged, organized, and assisted us on our trip. It was amazing! In Mozambique the Lord called me to return to Africa for further trips and missions work. In November 2012, I returned to SA and flew to Mozambique and Malawi to meet with two different teams of missionaries and their families in need of counseling.  Relational stress and team conflict can seriously affect mission teams and their work for Christ. I returned in February 2013 to help 3D with the training of the new interns. What a privilege it is to watch our Lord and Savior work through 3D and missionaries striving to obey the great commission. This has been an exciting eight months and I look forward to seeing what the Lord will do next!
