Latest update:Mozambique Flood Relief 2013
Posted by 3D-Outreach on 5 February 2013We went up to Xai-Xai, Mozambique last week to assess the situation with regards to the flood relief. We met up with a group of pastors to hear what their plan was to help the local people. Their idea is to ask donor families to pack the following items into a 20/25 litre plastic bucket with a sealing lid. This is planned for a family of 5.
- – 2x soap
- – 2 x hand towels
- – 1 x tooth paste
- – 5 x toothbrushes
- – 1 x plastic basin for bathing
- – 1kg Salt
- – 4kg Sugar
- – 100 x Tea bags
- – 4 x 200g beans
- – 4 x soya mince / soup
- – some sweets for kids
- – 5kg Rice
- – 2kg Pasta
- – 2 litres oil
- – 1 x vasaline (skin care)
- – a pack of candles
- – matches.
- – We also want to encourage donors to include a family photo and a note/prayer to help the affected family feel that there are families who care for them.
