February Intern Update

Posted by 3D-Outreach on 28 February 2011

Our Intern team has been on an amazing journey thus far! At the beginning of February they started their training with OM (Operation Mobilisation) along with 33 other trainees from all other the world. Their first segment of training is called “Inside-Out” and deals with personal development and growth. We’ve asked the girls to share some of their experience from the last month with you:

Tarryn: We have started a 6 week discipleship course called Inside-Out, which has been very challenging, as issues and problems in my life have been revealed, but it is also exciting as God has helped me to deal with these things and brought much inner healing. Between leaders, one on one coaching, care groups, bible study groups, counselors, room mates and friends, there is a lot of support for anything that does come up. I am also in a group for kitchen and cleaning duties. These rotate so that it is taken in turns and so that everyone gets time off as well. There is also a lot of time built into the schedule for being alone with God and reflecting, which I have found to be really valuable. One verse which I would like to share with you all, that has grown to mean a lot to me is Zephaniah 3:17 “ The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” I pray that that would be an encouragement to you too.

Moshibudi: We are now going through a hectic 5 week program called ‘Inside Out’ where we are examining our lives. We are working through our past and how it has had an influence on who we are today. So, we are in our 3rd week and it’s just been really hectic. I have been really emotional and just praying that God may heal my heart to trust in Him and the victory of the cross. God is really sanctifying me in so many ways and really showing me that the only way I can go through life is with Him by my side. Just having Him has given me so much strength to go on. It’s really hard but God just heals in ways and means that nobody can. He is the only one who can bring perfect healing. A scripture that has really been encouraging is: 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

Elsie: During the last month we had a prayer night where they made little rooms with different themes. There were two rooms that stood out for me – the one was the Throne room and the other was a room with a cross where you can take part in Communion. I first, with the guidance of God, went to the Throne room and sat down. God showed me this girl walking to Him, she was blonde with a white dress, from the front it was clean and beautiful but from the back it looked like she was in a fire. She was trying to walk so He couldn’t see. Then God told me that the girl was me and that He had already forgiven me, but I wouldn’t forgive myself for my sins and that I try to hide this fact from Him. It was amazing! I’ve also been very encouraged by Isaiah 49:16 “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me”

The team will be heading out on a two week rural outreach exposure soon. Please continue to pray for them as they complete their current segment of training and prepare for their outreach exposure.
